Looking for a new FM partner?
The contract failure can be due to several factors:
When FMS engages with a new business, we believe the partnership should be a ‘Good Fit’ for both parties otherwise we could act on insufficient information and make assumptions which may lead to issues later in the relationship.
The FMS process for ensuring a ‘good fit’:
-
- A face-to-face site meeting, the way to start a relationship.
- Explore what was and wasn’t working with the incumbent FM provider and what the mobilisation plan consisted of.
- Ensure that the capabilities of FMS meet with the expectations of the client.
- Discuss the main deciding factors in choosing a new FM provider.
- Check if FMS are geographically compatible, especially important if a multi-site organisation.
- Establish if a comprehensive asset list or O&M Manual and past service records are available.
- Discuss if any TUPE involved.
- Explore if a mutual appreciation exists regarding the importance of SFG20 for PPM contracts.
- If there is a ‘Good Fit’ agree next steps and collaboratively agree a communication strategy.
